If you’re finding your widget choices aren’t working when adding widgets to your sidebars, try this…
Go to Appearance – Widgets
Up in the right of your WordPress Blog, you’ll see “Screen Options” – click on it
Then in the left side “Enable accessibility mode” will appear. Choose it and you’ll see your widgets now have an “add” or “edit” box next to each one. That’s how you want to work with your widgets now. You are no longer able to just click and drag over to the side bar.
